Amanda Durgin, LPC-Associate
Amanda Durgin is a licensed professional counseling associate supervised by Tammy Corrales, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor. Amanda completed her undergraduate in psychology and master’s in counseling at Lubbock Christian University with a heavy emphasis on childhood.
Amanda has worked with children aged 18 months to young adult. She completed internships with early childhood education, school counselors, Buckner Children's Home, and working with foster children at Texas Boys Ranch in Lubbock. She has worked with issues of attachment, separation, anxiety, depression, reunification, adoption and permanency, life skills, and trauma.
Amanda’s goal is to create a safe space where children can process and communicate their feelings more fully, learn coping skills, and improve attachment within their families. Amanda has training and experience in play therapy, sand tray, bibliotherapy, and trauma-focused therapy. Amanda believes that the behavior children show is their communication of needs which can be met by further attachment to those they care about. Given the right help, she believes everyone can heal.
